You are a great teacher, but you also don’t get so focused on form and the asanas to the point of rigidity. Your class is very fluid. You have a great sense of humor and I appreciate that. "I have reaped many rewards since November when I started with you. Physically, I used to have a lot of stiffness in my thumbs and just resigned myself to some age related arthritis. Well my thumbs are totally flexible with no discomfort now. I also had fairly regular hip pain, but realized this morning I have not had any in a long time. I have lost 15 lbs since January, having changed the way I feed myself. But the body awareness that yoga has given me has contributed to this weight loss being easy. I love feeling the increased ability to bend and stretch. I have much less fat around my middle making some postures easier and more enjoyable. So those are some physical rewards. Emotionally and spiritually, I have been taking better care of myself and Good Yoga is a critical component of that self care. I laugh sometimes as I hear your loving voice in my head, gently reminding us to engage the mulabonda( spelling?), or suggesting that I choose a suncalpa(spelling?) for my day. So the once weekly practice has permeated my psyche throughout the week. I find myself wanting to meditate more regularly and enjoying it when I do. Frankly I would love to be in yoga 2x a week, that would be ideal!!! I love the class and you, thank you so much."

Hey, Kelly! I wanted to tell you that your scones saved my biscuits last Friday. I was going to Los Angeles for a meeting of the National Independent Theatre Consortium and I had a 9:45 flight -- or so I thought. When I got to Charlotte, there was a delay of over two hours. By the time I got on the plane, it was lunch time. The flight was going to be about 6 hours long. They offered some really awful looking lunches for $7 each, and then promptly ran out! Luckily, I remembered I had put one of your scones in my briefcase! It's fiber goodness and a lot of water, and I was good to go for the next 6 hours. As a sidenote, because I had yoga the night before, I wasn't the least bit uncomfortable on the long flight, whereas several of my fellow passengers were suffering with knotted-up backs. Now, if you had only been there to save me from having my luggage lost...TWICE...and having my return flight cancelled and turned into a red-eye so that I was traveling 24 hours straight.... well, I guess yoga can only do so much!

The warmth and tenderness you radiate and extend to us in class is remarkably generous; the images you use, the words you choose, so heartfelt and so evocative! Your kind ‘embrace’ takes me out the door and through my day, cushioning, swaddling, loving, but also offering ideas for perceiving the world and myself in new, more creative, dynamic and accepting ways. You are truly a gifted communicator! Although I still resist coming to your class, I don’t for a minute question how much it nourishes me. Thank you!

I am thinking that when we ladies come into your home we give you control of our being because we know and trust you. We have basic trust and confidence in you and we relax our souls and in a way are at peace for one hour and a half. It is a wonderful feeling, here we are a group of older ladies going through the exercises you have us do and when we leave we feel better for it, we are no longer tense and life just better for all of us being together. I wanted to let you know that last Tuesday's session in which you worked a lot on the shoulders and neck was truly therapeutic. I have a lot of problems in those areas due to an injury from a car accident. To be honest, I was really sore the rest of the day on Tuesday. That night I took a long soak in the tub with Epsom salt, got a good night's sleep, and have felt very good since then. My neck and shoulders are noticeably softer and more relaxed than I can ever recall.
